Residential Parking Permits

Dear Residents,

We are thrilled to announce the launch of our enhanced Parking Sticker Program, a significant step in our ongoing efforts to improve community services. Although the Resident Parking Sticker Program was initially adopted in 2010, it was never fully implemented. Now, with some necessary updates to align with current laws and regulations, we are excited to roll out this program to benefit our community.
Starting in April 2024, all residents residing on Spring Street, Spring Court, and Johnson Avenue will be required to display a designated parking sticker on their vehicles when parked on the street. Additionally, each household will receive two temporary visitor parking hangers for overnight guests. The implementation of this program comes at no charge to you, our valued residents.
We understand the growing challenges associated with parking in our Borough. Therefore, this program aims to streamline parking, providing residents with improved access to parking near their homes while enhancing security and ensuring ample parking availability near our recreation fields for parents and children.
To obtain your parking sticker, you must provide the Borough registration agency with proof of residency and vehicle information. The following documents are mandatory for proof of residency:

A copy of a valid New Jersey driver’s license reflecting the vehicle owner’s residency within the Borough of Wallington on the street for which the permit is sought.

• A copy of a valid New Jersey motor vehicle registration showing the vehicle owner’s address on the street within the Borough of Wallington for which the permit is sought.

• A deed of the property, lease, or written rental agreement on the street for which the permit is sought in the Borough of Wallington that matches the vehicle information. Please note that a post office box number will not be considered proof of residency to receive a resident parking permit.

• For leased vehicles used by Wallington residents, a copy of a valid motor vehicle registration and a copy of the automobile lease shall be presented to the registering agency of the Borough showing the Wallington resident has control over the vehicle.

• Vehicles registered with a company or corporation, a copy of a valid motor vehicle registration and letter from the registered owner showing that the Wallington resident has control of this vehicle after business hours shall be presented along with the above-listed proof-of-residency items. Commercial vehicles are ineligible for parking stickers.

Overnight parking will only be permitted for vehicles displaying a valid sticker. Overnight parking for nonresidents or vehicles without a sticker or visitor hanger, is strictly prohibited from 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. Monday through Sunday.

To schedule an appointment to obtain your parking sticker, please contact Magdalena Thompson at (973)777-0318 ext. 203 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, at the Borough Hall office.

Our approach involves tackling a few streets at a time, starting with the current list provided. This method allows us to carefully assess and adjust the program as needed before moving forward. We are committed to ensuring that the program operates smoothly and effectively for everyone involved.
Once we have completed the current list of streets, we will proceed to implement the program on another group of streets. We understand that this process may take some time, but please rest assured that we are moving forward deliberately to ensure the best possible outcome for our community.

As the Mayor, I recognize that your feedback and input are invaluable to us as we navigate through this process.
If you have any suggestions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to myself, or our program
coordinator, Magdalena Thompson, at (973)777-0318 ext. 203.

Together, we can make this initiative a success and enhance our community for the better.
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.

Warm regards,
Mayor Melissa Dabal
