BOROUGH OF WALLINGTON PLANNING BOARD 

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING THE ADOPTION OF AN 

AMENDMENT TO THE BOROUGH MASTER PLAN AND ITS 

HOUSING ELEMENT AND FAIR SHARE PLAN 

 

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE in accordance with N.J.S.A. 10:4-6 et seq. and the Municipal Land Use Law, N.J.S.A. 40:55D-1 et seq. and, more particularly, N.J.S.A. 40:55D-13, that on June 30, 2025 at 7:30 p.m. at the Civic Center, 24 Union Boulevard, Wallington New Jersey, 07057, the Planning Board of the Borough of Wallington (the “Board”) will conduct a Special Meeting and hold a public hearing to consider the adoption, revision and/or amendment of the Master Plan of the Borough of Wallington’s Housing Element and Fair Share Plan by the adoption of a Housing Element and Fair Share Plan (the “HEFSP”) and Affordable Housing Trust Fund Spending Plan (“Spending Plan”) that addresses municipal affordable housing planning requirements for Round 4 as defined in the amended Fair Housing Act, N.J.S.A. 52:27D-301 et seq. The HEFSP and Spending Plan propose various compliance mechanisms to address the Round 4 affordable housing obligation as set forth therein, including, but not limited to, regulations governing affordable housing units in the Borough of Wallington, all pursuant to Section 28 of the New Jersey Municipal Land Use Law. At the public hearing, the Board will receive a presentation from its planning expert as to the proposed HEFSP and Spending Plan. The public is invited to comment on the proposed HEFSP and Spending Plan by appearing in person at the hearing on the date and time set forth above and offering public comment.

Following the public hearing the Board may take action by adopting, revising and/or amending  the proposed HEFSP as part of the Borough Master Plan and Spending Plan.

Beginning on June 20, 2025, a copy of the proposed HEFSP and the Spending Plan of the Borough of Wallington will be available for public inspection on the Borough’s website at https://www.wallingtonnj.org/ and during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30PM, except holidays, in the Borough Clerk’s Office at the Civic Center, 24 Union Boulevard, Wallington, New Jersey 07057.

At the Hearing, opportunity will be given to all interested parties to be heard after which time the  Board may take action to adopt the HEFSP and Spending Plan pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:55D-28 and N.J.S.A. 52:27D-310. The Board reserves the right to make amendments to the HEFSP and the Spending Plan  at the public hearing prior to adoption and without further notice.
