THE WALLINGTON FIRE DEPARTMENT’S HOLIDAY PARADE CONTINUES ON AS IT USHERS IN THE 2022 HOLIDAY SEASON WITH AMERICA’S LARGEST DISPLAY OF LIGHTED AND DECORATED FIRE TRUCKS

The Wallington Fire Department is announcing the 2022 edition of it’s Holiday Parade on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2022 at 6 pm.  This 2-mile parade is America’s oldest & largest nighttime firefighter’s holiday parade of lighted and decorated fire trucks and floats, featuring 2,500 participants and over 250 fire trucks from the Tri-State area, which weaves through the streets of Wallington where many residents kickoff the Holiday Season with front yard tailgate parties with family and friends.

Since returning to full force last year, it has been a recognized success in the fire department & emergency service community. We want to emphasize the spirit of the holidays for everyone and most importantly the children of our community that have become accustomed to this tradition for many years.

Richard Pelcher, the parade’s Co-Chairman states, “Being America’s oldest & largest nighttime firefighter’s holiday parade, we ask all fellow firefighters & emergency responders to come celebrate the day with us, decorate your apparatus and bring as much holiday spirit with you that you can. Our return last year brought in the largest parade we have ever seen and that shows how much spirit everyone has.”

The parade begins at the intersection of Mt. Pleasant and Azalea Avenues, and concludes with the awards ceremony. Any organization, business, or community member who wishes to participate in the parade is encouraged to register, but they must decorate their floats with themes that celebrate the holiday season.
