Important Safety Notice: Proper Battery Disposal Required.
Residents are reminded that no batteries should be disposed of in regular garbage. Improper battery disposal can cause serious fires during our collection routes and at transfer stations. Please dispose of batteries properly to ensure the safety of everyone.
Recycling can be done at specific drop-off locations or through various programs. In Bergen County, residents can check for local household hazardous waste collection events or use services like Call2Recycle, which partners with retailers such as Home Depot, Lowe's, and Staples to collect and recycle batteries.
