Senior Activity Department
Wallington is one of the 10 Bergen County Senior Activity Centers that are open to all Bergen County residents 60+ and their spouses, regardless of age. Our center is staffed with caring professionals able to offer information and assistance about the community services available to older adults.
We offer comfortable and stimulating surroundings where you can come to socialize, participate in educational and wellness programs and share lunch with friends.
Physical activity and exercise are so important for overall health and wellbeing. Bergen County's senior centers offer a variety of ways to stay active while having fun. Try line dancing for instance. There are exercise classes for all levels of fitness from chair aerobics to chair yoga which is gentle but challenging. There are recreational and creative programs to accommodate individuals with varying interests, including:
- Group Painting Classes Crocheting and Knitting Card Games
- Bingo
- Parties & Celebrations
- Mall/Supermarket Shopping Trips
Speakers on current topics of interest are scheduled throughout the month, focusing on issues such as fall prevention, nutrition and managing health problems.
Our Center serves lunch Monday-Friday at 11:30 for a suggested donation of $1.25. Continental breakfast is also available. Lunch reservations are required one day in advance.
