The Wallington Bureau of Fire Safety promotes fire safety awareness and prevention through Public Safety Education and Fire Safety Inspections. The Bureau of Fire Safety offers Fire Prevention programs to citizens all ages from pre-school to seniors throughout the entire year including the yearly open house held during Fire Prevention Week in October.

The Bureau also performs fire safety inspections in all public buildings, in the Borough of Wallington to ensure compliance with the New Jersey Uniform Fire Code as well as local ordinances, which is paramount in avoiding death, injury and property damage resulting from a fire or explosion.
