ATTENTION : Residents of the Borough of Wallington

The Borough of Wallington Water Department will begin its hydrant- flushing and valve exercising program on Monday June 1st. This is an ongoing maintenance program to insure the delivery of the highest quality water. The work will be preformed during regular working hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The water delivery maintenance program will last till August 28th. Flushing will start with the hydrants at the southwest end of Wallington near the Gregory Ave. Bridge and working our way thru town doing approximately 15 to 20 fire hydrants daily.

Your water service may be interrupted for a short period and residents may experience some discoloration of their water. This is expected and a normal occurrence when existing water mains are disturbed. The discoloration poses no health hazard but residents should refrain from the consumption of the discolored water. If you experience discoloration, please allow the water to run from your cold water tap until it clears. Do not use the hot water tap until the water has cleared. Caution should be used when washing clothing. If you have any questions regarding this program, call (973) 777-0318 during normal business hours.
